The morning after the party, Reesa had awoken early and scoured the Talon's database regarding Etimon. It was truly hard for her to figure out what sorts of places she would like to visit, as nearly every place on Etimon was beautiful. There were mountains, and beaches, and gardens, each one more pretty than the last. There were zoos where she could see the creatures of the planet, and there were large buildings with complex architecture.
The problem was that Reesa had encountered all of these things before. Sure, the beaches of San Francisco weren't as nice as those on Etimon, and the Grand Canyon paled in comparison to the canyons below, but they were just improvements on things she'd seen before.
There was one thing that she had still yet to encounter, and that was snow. She'd avoided it in the past because she despised the cold so much, but she'd heard wonderful things about the snowy parts of Etimon. She'd heard that there was a similar phenomenon to the Aurora Borealis of Earth, and that it was visible almost all the time. She'd also heard how the snow reflected the colors of the sky, making a rainbow-colored frozen landscape.
Her decision made, she replicated some thick, warm clothing, taking designs from what the locals on Etimon wore there. It seemed like the key was layering, and she made sure that she had enough layers to keep her warm.
She paused for a moment, before getting dressed, remembering the events of the night before. She'd danced with a few men, some quite attractive. She frowned slightly when she thought of Robin, and of the various women she'd seen him with over the course of the evening. Perhaps he wanted someone more bold? Someone who wasn't made shy by lack of experience, and by fear of what it could mean for her career?
If that was what he wanted, then she could certainly deliver. Just because she wasn't experienced and because she was his subordinate didn't mean that she had to stand by, passively waiting to see if he ever came around and told her what he'd decided about pursuing things with her.
Walking over to her computer console, she sent him a quick message, making sure that it was sent anonymously. Sure, he could always see who sent it if he looked into it with the Operations team, but she didn't suspect that he'd go through all that trouble.
"Hey Robin,
Meet me on Etimon at these coordinates in 30 minutes. Don't be late, and be sure to dress warmly.
She sent the message before she had time to have second thoughts about it, then dressed quickly, not wanting to accidentally run into him at the Transporter room.
Exactly 15 minutes after the message was sent she arrived on the planet below, and she realized that the images she'd seen of the planet, and it's snow didn't do the place justice. Etimonian snow was normally a light blue hue, and the pinks and purples swirling through the sky were reflected in the snow. Reesa had chosen a random, uninhabited area with a good view for her beam down coordinates, and she had to force herself to move. It was hard, because the snow was unmarred by footsteps, and she didn't want to be the first one to set foot there, and to ruin it all. Yet snow fell quickly from the skies, and she knew that the depressions left by her feet would be filled in quite quickly.
Her original plan had been to lead Robin on some sort of chase, and she realized that the footprints she left behind were going to make things far easier than she'd hoped. She chided herself for not understanding the mechanics of snow better, as she began to walk up the nearby mountain.
If she'd done her research correctly, all she would need to do was scale this 1500 foot tall mountain, and then she would have a great view of the valley below. But she realized that it was far harder to climb a mountain when it was frozen, and she was wearing so many layers of clothing. Still, harder wasn't impossible, and her plan was to meet Robin on top of the mountain, so she went to work climbing.
With her ascent in progress, she had time to worry. What if he didn't come? What if he was disappointed when he realized it was her, and not one of his stupid bimbos from the night before? She forced those thoughts away. She'd deal with it if it came to it.
