“And how would that look for the new Assistant Chief of Security, Lieutenant Kinin?”
In all the excitement, she had almost forgotten. "It is a good day to be Kinin," she said to him as he stood up. He delicately held the dagger and she lifted her chin slightly. Though his mark on her shoulder would fade over time, she would continue to wear his gift around her neck as a symbol of their bond.
“I have to go or I will not hold to our purpose. I will let you know as soon as I hear anything.”
"Yes, Sir," she said, giving him a saucy grin and standing at attention as he picked up his new weapon. She was not about to comment about his sudden intake of breath. It would be insulting to a warrior to show concern over such a minor injury. As he kissed her, she returned it in kind, giving him one last memory before he left.
“You fight well”
"And you are the victor." She had not held back during the fight, knowing the other Klingons were evaluating his every move. He had made a fine showing.
“You are also mine.”
And, that said, he was gone. The room seemed unusually vacant. Her fingers touched the dagger that hung from her neck as she allowed herself to fully comprehend the enormity of his statement. She sat down in the chair he had vacated, then she queried the computer as to the location of her roommate.
"Ensign Tiria sh'Aann is in the quarters of Commander Sig Ericson."
Kinin's smile grew wider. It was a good day for Tiria as well, it seemed. Kinin stood and made her way to the bedroom, pulling off the blue dress as she walked. Wearing only her boots, she stood in front of the mirror, admiring the bruises that had formed in many locations across her body. She touched each one lightly, remembering the moments they were formed.
Shortly thereafter, she had removed her boots and climbed into bed with the covers pulled tightly around her. Sleep came quickly and she dreamed of acts that could not take place. Not yet, anyway...
