The turbolift trip to their quarters had been relatively uneventful, and Zakhara took a quick look at the floor that they'd stopped on to make certain she could get back there in the future. The station was going to be positively huge when it was completely, with literally hundreds of floors from what she'd heard, and she had no intention of relying on the computer system to tell her where she lived. She had some pride.
"Let's visit Ahska's quarters first," she said. It was proper, given the fact that Ahska was higher in rank than Zakhara. but she didn't expect Thalev to understand that nuance of protocol. "I've heard that they have a rather lovely view of Etimon," she commented.
Exiting the turbolift, she followed along until they entered the quarters that would belong to the Princess. "How does the design compare to the Talon?" She asked, wondering if the decor was a Federation standard for dignitaries, or if something special had been procured for Ahska. Besides, the younger woman seemed to enjoy talking about her time on the Talon, and Zakhara expected that they would be seeing a lot of each other aboard the Talon. It would be good to nurture a friendly relationship with her.
She walked over to the window, pressing one hand against the glass, and peering out into Etimon, and the space beyond. It felt so weird to be looking at her home planet from such a distance, as Zakhara had never traveled from Etimon before the Federation arrived. She admired the natural beauty of the Star Streams, the energy that surrounded everything. She smiled, grudgingly admitting that the view was unlike anything she had ever seen before. Perhaps there would be some good things about this whole arrangement. Still she remained cautiously skeptical. One could never rely too strongly on first impressions. The real test would be surviving the first few months.
