Jonathan walked into the command centre, a mug in hand when he was stopped by a man in yellow who was carrying a large crate. Lots of oysters. "Here ya go sir, good luck!" Said the young ensign handing Jon an oyster, clearly happy about something before exiting the room. Jon smiled in amusement, noting that Commander Myrlaa looked pretty pleased as well.
"Glad you're here sir,"
"So you can scurry off and open that oyster?" Jon asked, making his way to the command chair as Myrlaa stood up from it, chucking the oyster he held from one hand to the other.
"That would be it, I have to admit I didn't believe it at first but when I saw Lt. Spade juggle this morning, it's gotta be true." The commander said, and the two 3-pippers exchanged some words on the status of the station before Myrlaa also left the room.
"Have fun," Jonathan called, taking a sip of his anise tea. Glancing at his own oyster for a moment, Jonathan decided that he would try it out later. From what he had heard, the oysters had been relatively positive and it was hard to imagine someone gaining a bad skill. Although there had been rumours of some visions, and wondered what kind they might be, would they tell the future? At this point, he wasn't sure what to believe.
Placing the oyster on the side of his chair, Jonathan noticed one of the young officers who kept gazing at their own clamb.
"Do I need to confinscate that, ensign?" Jonathan asked, eyebrow perched. The ensign blushed and stuttered, "O- of course not, sir... it's..."
"Amazing." Jon finished for the ensign who just nodded sheepishly. "It is." The ensign looked at the oyster before relunctantly placing it in his pocket.
"Do you think this could get me an extra pip?" Jon heard another young officer say rather quietly to the person next to him.
"Only if you can prove you deserve one without using it for that." Jonathan replied, the officer gulped in reponse.
"I was just jok-... Aye sir."
Jonathan smiled before settling in his chair, withdrawing a PADD and taking another short sip from his mug. Maybe his would give him some skill in dealing with Zaldans, he had not enjoyed that experience with the Zaldan Captain. At least that event was past them now.
