Hunter had just missed Georgia in her quarters and, after being surprised as the door opened for him, he had gone in to find a message playing for him. After watching it, he wandered about, snooping, trying to find evidence of any sign that she had moved on. He stopped short of using a tricorder, deciding that he really didn't want to know.
Now, he was in the science lab, back in his element. The place was buzzing with activity. Some were still cleaning up messes, broken glass, spilled liquids that had occurred with the impacts, while others were engaged in examining the darkness that enveloped the ship. Hunter was sure Clyde was up in his tower, locked away in astrometrics, mind fully focused on the task.
Clearing debris from his console, Hunter sat down in front of it and powered up his computer. "What do we know," he asked a tech next to him. Everyone was all business; there was no time for jokes or petty bickering.
"Not much. We've just been doing damage control until just a few minutes ago."
Hunter nodded, his fingers tapping on the console as he brought some sensors online. "This can't be natural," he said. "It defies all concepts of physics." The group at the circular lab module nodded almost in unison. "It's as if we've been put into a box." He looked around. At the moment, he was the senior officer in the department. Where was Tim? Where was Aaerion? Shrugging, he tapped his combadge. "Lieutenant Hunter to Bridge. If we can get clear of some of this debris, I recommend sending out a probe to see if we can penetrate this darkness." Hopefully, it would give them some idea as to how far it extended.
As he studied the limited data on the screen, he couldn't help but wonder about the kiss Georgia had blown into the video screen. Was it just an automatic gesture? Or something more...
