"Lemme tell you something, never walk to shift with the chief, it takes 10 minutes longer." Said an engineer to his friend, working on a conduit just outside the chief engineer's office within the power hub of the ship. "The guy is all polite, if someone is coming down the corridor for the turbolift, and if he see's someone going past, he asks them if they need the lift!"
"Where do they find these guys? At least they got rid of that assistant chief firing that phaser in here, even if it was a secured test." The 2nd engineer said with a little sigh, but at least with the current chief, politeness didn't kill everyone, well it might. "Imagine him doing that in a red alert?"
Logan's head popped out of the office doorway, "In the event of a red alert I would be obligated to fulfill my primary duties as quickly and as efficiently as possible and would have to ignore my manners for a while." He said, moving back into his office. The two engineers blinked, about to give each other a glance when Alex looked out again at the two, followed by a 'one-more-thing' finger.
"And it only takes an extra second to be courteus... Oh and I need to speak to you Ensign Rollez about that minor incident yesterday morning, after you have completed that diagnostic." And then his head disappeared back ino his office.
"Good luck with that," Rollez's friend mumbled, making sure to stay extra quiet, Logan might somehow hear again. "Oh please, the worst he's gonna do is not offer me a drink."
Alex sat down in the chair behind his desk, pulling up another report, glad to see another all green status. Everything was looking good and everyone was doing well, unless you counted the oyster side of things. He felt sorry for those that had left, but they were following what they believed, whether it was the right thing or not, that was up to them.
He just hoped they would find what they wanted. He still had not recieved an oyster, upon his own choice though Hann had tried to convince him to get one, he had stuck to his word of considering the idea but ultimately he would not take one, and besides he was sure they were all gone and mostly used by now.
