The pair materialized inside of the Brig as Haywood watched from outside. His hand was on his weapon, but he had no need to withdraw it, especially considering the fact that the two aliens were yammering on and on about what had just happened to them. Haywood smirked and stepped forward. "Please remove your pressure suits and any other items other than your clothing." He turned to the others who had been beamed over. "Are you guys okay?"
The larger one nodded to the smaller. "Do as he says." He touched several controls on the side of the helmet and there was a small hiss as the seal released. Lifting the helmet off, he set it on the floor and slid it forward. It bounced back slightly after impacting the force field and the aliens took another few minutes to discuss the field strength.
"Today," Haywood said.
It took a lot of effort to extract themselves, but finally they were standing free from the restrictive ramshackle suits. Then, they began pulling things from their pockets. Lots and lots of pockets. In fact, pockets were everywhere. On their thick, tan trousers, on their shirts, in various places along their wide belts. The wrenches, small electronic devices, pliers, and other tools piled up next to the forcefield and it took at least ten minutes for them to finally finish the task.
Haywood shook his head. "Step back and have a seat."
The pair did as they were told and soon they were seated on the small bench along the back wall. Haywood nodded to Diran and Etilen. "Cover me." He lowered the field and stepped inside, then began scooting all of the gear outside of the cell.
"Be careful of that," the smaller said when Haywood reached for a small device.
The security officer narrowed his eyes. "Weapon?"
"No," the alien said, quickly. "It's just delicate equipment."
Taking care not to damage their precious instruments, Haywood continued to move the items. When he was done, he raised the shield and gestured to Diran and Etilan. "Check that pile. Make sure nothing's going to go boom." At the last word, he glanced at Cobus before tapping his combadge. "Haywood to Bridge. We have the intruders in custody."
