Kunama jerked awake and stared about disorientated before she heard the words spoken over the intercom. She thought for a moment shaking her head quite vigourously to get rid of sleep and retrieve clarity to her mind. She gave a wide yawn as she rose to her feet and found Hunter with Gillian when she could locate the tall Klingon.
"We might have incoming," "
"Might is actually a certainty," she said sagely. Even with a little sleep she felt much better than before though having eaten improved her spirits. "Lieutenants, I suspect your Bridge staff could use my expertise and experience thus far with dealing with the Dkaran threat. Since M'Khol has gone, I ask if you could ask them for permission to go up there. With escort, obviously,"
Kunama knew the dangers of having someone you didn't know all that well in a sensitive area but as things stood, they were better off. They could talk to the Dkarans but Kunama knew that once they detected the Nolfian life-signs that they would demand a prisoner transfer. Kunama could not allow it. They had to buy time so the Nolfian fleet could reach them and help deal with the Dkarans.
"Ordinarily, I would not impose myself on your Federation's protocols and standards regarding alien members in sensitive places but I fear I if I do not... your commanders could lose," She could only hope that Gillian and Hunter understood where she was coming from on this front. She certainly wasn't going to give advice over an intercom... she needed to see the situation as much as she needed to hear it.
It would also give her a better understanding of how they faired in battle situations from a more personal point of view, not that she ever allowed this to cloud her judgement. She was simply a guest here and was at the mercy of what they thought right.
