"The intruder would have passed straight through some computer core subsystems. Sabotage, data download, data destruction... I do not know."
"Well, it's a good thing I got my stuff out of there, isn't it," Tazer said in a snarky manner.
"Understood. Override. Authorization Tykat Delta Barret Pi."
What was it with Starfleet and their verbal authorizations. Anyone standing around in the room now knew his override code. Did it automatically change after he gave it? Tazer grunted and looked around for something else to eat.
"I assume not everyone will rush down there, hopefully lightening people's feet a bit will generate a bit of haste."
"Unless they're drunk, they'll be there." Booking transport to the gamma quadrant was expensive. They would probably do anything to get out of their first month's rent. Of course, Elly would love the break in trying to collect.
Rummaging around in a pile of discarded objects, Tazer pulled out a thermos. Unscrewing the cap, he sniffed at the contents then drank deeply.
“I’m terribly sorry Governor, but I’m currently unable to verify your identity. It appears that there is no record of you within the stations database. Please step away from the console, keeping your hands where I can see them.”
He froze for a second, then turned just his head, the thermos still raised to his mouth. Swallowing, he tossed the container aside. "Are you flippin' kidding me," he shouted. "Look, this is the second time today someone has raised a weapon at me. The first time, I chalked up as a fluke." His eyes narrowed at Koval. "Now... now, it's just getting old." Gavum stepped up and began moving Tazer away from the computer. "I suggest you get off of me right now," Tazer warned.
"Logs from this station indicate access to the mainframe several minutes ago. What were you accessing? Step away from the console."
When Gavum moved off, Tazer initially thought he got his threat, but the piglizard was headed straight for Fargo. "Get away from him," he shouted. He assumed the Vulcan had his phaser set on stun, so Tazer took the chance and spun around, catching Gavum by the collar and lifting him off of his feet. He turned back around and deposited Gavum down next to Koval. "Stay," he said, as if commanding a dog. "If you want to go pointing phasers at someone, go find the Andorian."
