"I'll talk to his teachers and see if they can work something out."
While Ludir was not a father himself, he knew that often children were better behaved when they believed that there was something to be earned from it. And besides, perhaps it would do some of the members of the Talon crew good to have a child follow them around for a while. It might add some perspective to their lives.
"Not that you were almost killed, but that you had the opportunity to see life in a way that other Vedek's have not."
"I'm actually quite glad that I was almost killed," Ludir responded. "It was hard for me to see it at the time, but it made me a completely different man. I used to be very intense, I would get really upset if things didn't go my way. Nowadays, I appreciate each day I have a lot more."
"It's been a long time since we were alone together."
"Indeed, and there are a lot of beautiful places to see on Etimon," Ludir said. "I was provided with some of the cultural information that we have on the Etimonions before I came onboard. I can't wait to see it in person for myself." He paused a moment, considering how to best ask what he'd wanted to ask. "I'd heard rumor aboard the ship that you and Kendra were separated for some time. Perhaps Etimon would be a good place for a small Wedding?"
"I think I'm going to have to give in."
"I think there are many people aboard the Talon who have great potential, and who would like an opportunity to distinguish themselves somewhat," Ludir said, nodding. He'd been over many of the crew personnel records en route to the Talon to get a feel for the people aboard, and he'd learned that there were a good number of truly remarkable officers.
"I think you've just been dismissed,"
"Fair enough," Ludir responded with a grin. "If you have need of me, you can just give me a call. It was a pleasure speaking with you both." He bowed respectfully before leaving the Commodore to his delegating.
