"Although, there needs are generally more physical, or they just want to feel like someone appreciates them, I think this new role as a diplomat will be an interesting change of pace for me."
He nodded smiling a little being able to relate to her words, "Somedays, it does feel like every soul on board wants a piece of me but then I just have to remind myself that if someone isn't there to help them though hard times, life would be a lot worse for all of us involved. Friends.... Colleagues... they all become family. I'm sure you feel the same for your people, Midhara," or at least he hoped it was a feeling she reciprocated in some fashion.
"I have to admit, I did have some... hesitations about this whole arrangement. But the Starfleet personnel I have met have all been very interesting."
"I... uh... can imagine that it will take time to get used to for all parties involved," he replied softly before finishing his coffee before it reached that luke-warm stage that he hated. He could not stand luke-warm coffee.
"I don't want to take up too much of your time. I'm sure that you have plenty of people who will be beating down your door once they all arrive at the station. You deserve time for yourself as well. It was nice talking to you though."
Charles stood as she stood as was the natural etiquette that he was taught to do. It was considered common courtesy where he came from. Whether her people considered it the same politeness, he did not know. He knew well enough that there was a great deal that he did not know.
"Well, if you do wish to speak to me again, my door is always open as the saying goes," he replied softly, feeling this meeting was coming to a close by now. Perhaps they would meet again, she was pleasant company and he was sure she would always be in need of help along the way but that was for her to decided. Charles did not force himself on anyone unless the situation was critically dire, but that point, it was a whole new ball game.
"It was a pleasure to meet with you, Midhara," his head bowed slightly before following her to the door.
