There were several tense moments as the Ferengi spoke with the Salorri, and M'Khol could hear his heart pounding. If someone would have told him yesterday that his fate was going to lie in the hands of a Ferengi, he would have likely laughed and called them a foolish PetaQ. But that was what was happening. What if the Ferengi didn't actually know Salorri? What if he told them that he was going to sell them a starship, rather than telling them that this Away Team had the potential to save them, if they could get back to their vessel.
"Leave and no harm. Claim accident."
"Thank you," M'Khol said. "You are an honorable man. I will not leave this system without finding some way to save you." In other situations, freeing the slaves would have been a violation of the Prime Directive. But when a species utilized their "power" to take other species as slaves... that was unacceptable. Starfleet rules would allow them to intervene. And if they got out alive, M'Khol was going to do everything in his power to free these slaves.
"I can't go anywhere."
"You are not heavy," M'Khol commented. Even in his battered state, he knew he could carry the pilot. He looked around for something that he could use as a weapon, before realizing that he was completely nude and had nowhere to store one. If he carried Robin, he would be unable to fight. "We are not leaving you behind. We will find somewhere to hide you before attempting to get in contact with the Talon. If we leave you here, you will die."
He turned to face Kinin. "If anything happens, you will leave us behind. Do whatever you can to get in touch with the Talon as soon as possible," M'Khol told her. He placed his hand on her abdomen. "Your child is more important. If we die here, we die fighting. Sto-Vo-Kor will have a place for us both."
M'Khol picked Robin up, tossing him over one shoulder with deceptive ease. His chest was throbbing in pain with exertion, but he was a Klingon warrior. He embraced the pain, and utilized uit to fuel his rage. "We go now. Quickly," he said, heading towards one of the caves.
"Out that way," the Ferengi said, pointing. "Females leave there."
"That is the exit that the women use?" He asked, trying to clarify, and the Ferengi nodded his agreement.
"They sleep when sun down." The Ferengi added.
"That way then, I suppose," M'Khol said, heading down that passageway.
