"I will. Maybe I'll even show you one day."
"I'd like that," she meant it. She had been places but had never really explored Earth much.
"Oh really?"
She glanced at him, hearing an undertone in his voice that did seemed truly surprised but smiled and reached forward, squeezing his shoulder with reassurance, another giggle threatening to break loose but she held it back. Just. "Don't worry, it's all good," she said softly. "He's hte only family I have left and we're friends as well as him being my father. Still, he doesn't know every gory detail that goes on this ship. Gotta keep some stories to myself," she winked and took a deeper sip of the drink in her hands. It was really good.
"It's good,"
"Well, T'Kar recommended it, strangely enough. I shall thank her on both our behalves," she smiled happily. Damn, dinner did really smell good and her stomach craved attention. When had she last eaten? She pondered, must have been this morning she mused. She tilted her head for a moment, a feeling slipping into her gut but there was nothing to indicate trouble. The light was normal and dull, so she just looked back to the man before her.
"So, we've been on a few dates, but we never made it clear where we intended to go or what we intended to do. And I was thinking that maybe we could go steady, make it exclusive?"
Her mind traversed back in time to the sleepover she had at Mia's and what was spoken about her and Jack there. They were convinced and found it strange but age did not matter to her. Outwardly, she looked the the same age, give a few years. Regardless that she was older and was likely to outlive him should nothing wretched happen... she was pretty certain of what she felt on the matter.
"I..."
Course, someone had to break the flow as she stared at the individual who had strode in like he owned the place and she wasn't happy about it. Strangely enough Dreyan did like the occasional bit of privacy now and then, especially with such questions. She knew that Jack couldn't be best pleased by it. Well, she supposed her gut feeling rung true then but still... she sighed slightly as he left.
"Don't they ever knock?" she grumbled with a fair bit of petulance before trying to remember where she was before the interruption. Oh! Yes, she remembered well enough, "I'm not going to put much stock in what people say about us Jack, the rumours are already flying wild," she said, smiling softly, "You're cute, I like you, and I find myself wanting to know you more," if that wasn't enough, she moved foreward and kissed him on the cheek.
"Hm, I guess we're both gonna have to call a rain check on dinner, huh?" she was rather annoyed about that... the Brass upstairs had the worst timing imaginable.
