"Other than the murmur the baby looks good. Weight and length are acceptable for a fetus at 26 weeks. It's obvious Tyne took as good of care of Chloe as he was able to, which is speaking a lot,"
Matthew nodded also, rechecking his PADD to make sure everything was correct.
"I'm quite sure she'll want the cataracts removed. That's what I would want if I had cataracts. I'd give it a day, at least, for her body to rest and recoup and begin to rebuild its reserves before you begin. I'll assist if you need me to. As far as the heart murmur goes I'd wait until after the baby is born. The longer it stays in the womb the better it is for the baby. That's what I would do. What are your thoughts?"
Matthew looked up at Luis as he spoke. "I completely agree." He seemed a bit taken aback by the offer for help, normally he had to do everything on his own. "Actually I would kill for some assistance. I've only done cataracts a few times. It'd be nice for a helping hand." He said, smiling.
He pondered a bit on what Luis said about the baby. After a moment he breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Yes, I think that would be best. Make sure the baby had enough time to grow and develop and then fix the murmur after. It shouldn't be that much of a problem to fix. We can plan for all of that when it becomes much closer to the delivery time. Thank you for your input, Doc." Matthew smirked this time, clapping a hand on Luis's shoulder.
"Now here's the dilemma...should we wait until tomorrow to tell her, or should we tell her now. Either way, I'm sure it's going to stress her out, which isn't good for the fetus. Plus if we tell her tomorrow, that won't be good for the procedure to fix the cataracts, and I really don't want to use any anesthetics for fear of harming the fetus. What do you think?" He asked, taking some notes down on his PADD.
