He hadn’t done it in a while but Gav put away his analysis and pushed back from his terminal. He respected the Captain’s orders and had set up several sentry programs in the computer systems to watch for any mention of their most recent mission. Snoopers were out there already looking for that elusive signal he’d caught the edge of once or twice.
Someone on the ship was sending coded messages on non Starfleet channels and eventually he’d catch them and find out what they were all about. But, right now he wanted a good workout and a soak.
So off to the gym he went.
No one was there when he arrived. ‘So much for the sparring partner’ he thought as he went in to change into exercise clothes. He decided to run instead and went up to the track and settled into a distance eating stride.
His mind worked the event with Thoy in the brig. He was fairly happy with his reading of the alien’s intentions but felt he should have stepped up the challenge just a little to keep the guy from going for Kinin.
He grinned at their interchange. She hadn’t missed a single cue and that was something. In other circumstances it could have been Alyssa instead and he began to wonder if she would have picked up on it as quickly.
She was a good solid officer in his estimation and she’d proved it more than once. When the proverbial ___ hit the fan, he would trust her to have his back as much as he would Kinin.
He shook off those thoughts and decided to just go with the run. “Computer, Matheran trail.” Immediately the walls transformed with the familiar panorama of his native India’s beautiful conservancy. It was only about a hundred kilometers from his home town of Mumbai and had some of the most breathtakingly beautiful vistas in the region.
He ran past streams and cliff’s the ever changing pictures keeping up with his pace. It was almost as if he were actually there.
He ran.
