His heart was heavy as he walked through the busy Promenade.
Apparently there were several other Starfleet ships that had docked on DS9, most likely heading to Breas like they were, or to parts unknown, as it seemed to be filled with uniforms on all levels. Passing a group of young female Ensigns, their hands filled with multicolored shopping bags, they seemed to be intent on visiting as many clothing and jewelry shops they could. They giggled looking into a window at the latest dress fashions. Hearing them Luis glanced back just as a pretty blonde Ensign grinned at him and he returned the grin but continued on his way.
Eventually he came to the Bajoran Temple. To his right was a bar called Quark's but memories of his previous ordeal with Bloodwine when he was on SGE sent chills up his spine. Never again would he indulge in that firewater. Stepping inside the temple's entrance he was greeted by a Vedek. Asking permission he was allowed to worship and seek guidance.
Inside he found a place to sit and find solitude. He didn't necessarily believe in the Bajoran prophets but he had his own Christian beliefs and the temple was very much similar to a church or cathedral. Closing his eyes he bowed and began to quietly pray.
He had been very close to his family and dearly loved his Great-grandfather. He had been feeling the heavy burden over the great man's recent loss and guilt at not being there to help comfort his family, especially his father and grandparents.
"God, forgive me," he wept into his hands. "Oh God, please forgive me." Tears streamed down his face as he pleaded.
