Logan stepped into the holodeck with a goal in mind. Today he would relax on the warm, sun drenched beaches of Miami. He had spent numerous vacations there as a child with his parents in tow. He remembered how serene the city had been and how different the vibe of the beach had been in contrast to his home back in Georgia. The rainy seasons of the spring didn't effect Florida quite like it did the northern state. He found that he preferred the heat and sand to cool winds and mud.
"Computer, load south beach, Miami, Florida. Early July."
The system did as it was told and the place appeared around him. The white city was has he remembered. Palm trees, blinding sunlight, bright, over-the-top colors. He was a child again. Bustling vehicles with the occasional ship sailing overhead zoomed by. Tourists moved around him, their luggage moving along beside them. The sun's glaring rays beamed down on him from above and he could feel sweat begin to form beneath his civilian clothing. He had yet to dress appropriately for the part.
"Computer, load beach wear. Shorts and tee shirt. Sunglasses, sandals and hat for me. Also, load a male Floridian as guide. I want to see Miami from a local's point of view."
The computer did as it was told and instantly the heat was not so over bearing. There he stood in thin tee shirt, red beach shorts, brown sunglasses and sandals. He stood outside a huge hotel with a handsome male local to his left. He smiled at the man.
"I should get checked in. Then you can show me around. Sorry. I don't believe I caught your name."
"Nickolas. And I have lots to show you, Mr. McKenzie." The man smiled and followed him inside the hotel."
"I'm sure you do," Logan said, his own smile lingering on his lips.
