"Always easy... if you know how to treat them right," he grinned back with soft amusement. True, some were better with the opposite sex more than others but it was never difficult to know how to respect and treat women. Especially if you knew what made their day for them.
He nodded and then moved to deal with the request before returning with two standard Starfleet issue mugs that were steaming from the hot liquid that they contained, "No problem," he said as Seth began natter on about things. The Captain again. It seemed that Seth was eager to please, which was to be expected but sometimes it was irritating if it was over the top.
"It's his first day, geez,"
Jed blinked before turning to see Jo standing there near a table. He frowned, he was usually good with hearing the doors. He shrugged it off, Seth's dialogue must have blurred his hearing before he smiled, "I'd try to not focus on that too much. Captain's his own boss, you'll figure out his habits soon enough." Jed had never really known a lot of Captains who did dine in public outside of formal conventions. They often preferred to have their meals in private as an excuse just to get away from the hub bub of their daily working lives. Jed just knew to never read too much into it.
He took a sip before carrying his mug, sprayer and cloth into the main section. He settled his mug down before he got back to work but he was close enough to still be a park of the conversation. Seth could clearly talk the hind legs off a donkey and he wondered how the rest of the kitchen staff would take to that. Jed chuckled as he finished off the first table.
