"It's logical to assume that the away team suffered a similar fate as we did, but that still does little to explain what caused this."
"All in good time," Kealan replied. "Triage first, investigation second."
The Bridge was suddenly bustling with activity, a welcome change from the stillness of unconscious bodies. This was how it should be, officers doing their duty without question, all working in a crisis for one common goal. Robin and Liz exited while other officers entered, filling the vacancies on the Bridge.
//"Lieutenant Commander Rok to bridge. Main power's back online. Some of our systems are still suboptimal, but we're working on it,"//
The announcement had fallen on the heels of the lights returning to normal power, but it was good to hear for sure from Rok that things were progressing. "Thank you, Commander," he replied. "Good work."
"Step down from red alert," he said once the comm was closed. The warning lights on the consoles, and in several places throughout the room, turned from red to yellow.
"Well, it seem the Commander's reputation precedes him after all."
"That it does," he nodded. What Rok was doing way out in the Gamma Quadrant instead of in a high level research facility was beyond his understanding. Of course, some people thrived on constant excitement which, as Kealan was beginning to realize, was commonplace on board the Talon.
"Internal sensors not fully functional, but it seems that some stations are reporting only minor casualties. Considering recent events, of course."
A science officer had entered shortly following Robin and Liz' exodus, and she shooed the Lieutenant away from her station. Checking what he had just said, she added a nod of her head, confirming it for the Captain.
"Lieutenant JG Lawson reporting in, Sir."
Kealan gave a brief nod of his own to the man.
"Should I take the helm sir?"
"Your Chief has gone to the Kestrel, so the seat is vacant," Kealan stated the obvious and swung his hand toward the empty chair.
"Monroe to away teams," he said after activating the now-working comm. "Report."
