The area she'd found herself in, more by the whim of the transporter operator than any sort of plan, seemed to be some kind of shopping district, of the tropical village sort. There were a few open air cafés, a few market stalls that looked like they were just handing out wares rather than selling them, and a few artists and street performers looking for ways to entertain the passerby.
Georgie wasn't sure what she'd expected the planet to be, but it was very pleasant all the same. It was a nice change to be planet side for pleasure, rather than business.
As she wandered down the street, she stopped occasionally to take in the various bits and pieces that the people on the market stalls were offering her. A particularly beautiful necklace made of shells caught her eye, and after a short conversation she was its proud new owner; the reflective green and brown shells in almost heart shapes hanging on their sparkling chain around her neck.
Next to the cart with the shell necklaces was one of those small, almost pop-up cafés. It seemed to have a well stocked array of bottles behind the counter, so Georgie stopped to take a closer look.
"What can I get for you?"
The wonders of the universal translator never failed to impress Georgie, no matter how many years she'd been benefitting from it.
"I don't know, really," she replied. "I like fruity drinks. Spirits and so on are fine, but nothing too strong."
A nod and a smile from the exotic woman behind the bar, and a few moments later a tall glass of blue liquid appeared in front of her. Georgie sipped experimentally at it, then smiled. It didn't taste too strong, but it was sweet and smelt of berries. She supposed she could probably drink a few of those, sat around a pool.
"It's great, thanks," she said. The woman smiled and nodded, then went back to the usual busy bits and pieces that bar staff occupied themselves with. Georgie smiled to herself and sipped at her drink, watching the flow of people up and down the street.
