To many, the fact that Stetson chose to go planet-side in the middle of an investigation might have appeared poorly timed. He knew, however, the value of letting someone stew in their own juices. Many times the anticipation of what might, as opposed to would, happen to them was a valuable tool. More often than not, their own imagination, working overtime in considering their possible fate, created alternatives far worse than the actual events that would likely follow. The accused became more open to options being presented them, the fear of the unknown making them more compliant, more pliable when the time came for them to be given choices. In the end, they made the right decision.
It wasn't without its negative side, of course, but instances of that were rare. Give them a little rope, metaphorically speaking, and they could find a degree of courage they'd not suspected they had. Even so, self preservation usually won out. Knowing Dakbar and what they'd found out about what had happened to him to cause him to end up where he now was, Stetson was confident the Cardassian would do the right thing. After all, Dakbar did have a sense of honor about him, and Stetson was counting on that.
For now, he was awaiting some answers to questions sent to various people and entities; might as well enjoy himself until the replies came.
So, Stetson and his companion found themselves exploring the planet's offerings, and he found her company pleasant, refreshing, and stimulating. She was intelligent, had a great sense of humor, and even though her point of view was less structured than his own, the "opposites attract" rule was applying quite well, thank you very much. The fact that she was one of the most attractive - no, gorgeous - women he'd even met didn't hurt! He'd even found himself actually laughing out loud - an occurrence for which he was NOT noted. Bottom line, he was enjoying himself and she, by all appearances, was also. It bode well.
"So, what would you like to do?" Stetson asked Morgan.
