As a victim of failure on several occasions somehow Eden had maintained unwavering confidence in success; after all, total failure usually resulted in death in her field and experience. Life only reinforced what Starfleet instructors had insisted on vehemently: never give up, keep on trying, and "Don't give up the ship!" There was no way her thick skull could accept defeat anyhow. With Ensign Warren back with supplies and two other security officers Eden felt the joy of progress tickle her skin. A plan was finally decided upon and they were about to take action- action was the best part, what she thrived upon, what made her feel alive. Slowly a small smile tugged at her lips.
With accented words of gratitude, the fellow ensign accepted the blanket and flashlight and quickly fit them to her body. A blanket may not have been ideal but there was no way the woman could find the heart to complain.
"Alright' take Ensign Nivans with you..."
"Roger that," Eden replied, releasing more pent up feelings than she had meant to, relief clear.
"Place the baby in the bag..." Eden returned Taylor's look with a bit of surprise. It was certainly unorthodox but there was no good reason to shoot down the idea. She found it to be ingenuitive but perhaps Mac might have disagreed- everyone else disagreed, too, when Taylor suggested stunning the kid. "Um," Eden's soft bottom lip pouted for a second, turning her eyes to meet Mac, "It'd be too dangerous to carry the- er- your baby in the tubes, especially on ladders. It'll be just fine, we can make it as cozy as we can." Fortunately the suggestion was not met with hysterics, a good start to their exodus to sick bay.
A few of the dim back up lights flickered on casting a cool glow over the room.
"Lead the way,"
Eden nodded, reassuring Mac with a soft hand, the uninjured left, on her arm and a smile then moved past to close the space between her and the door, adjusting her frame to slide the doors open. "Ain't no road of flowers leadin' to glory." She said with a grin, waiting for a cue from Ensign Taylor.
