The walk to the turbolift was a gracefully short journey. Alyssa had no intentions of embarrassing Robin to the crew. Even if she'd had restraints, she wouldn't have used them. He wasn't resistant nor was he posing a danger to anyone. In shrot, she trusted him to submit to her authority, and to breach that trust would do far more damaging for him than for her.
They past by a single spectator, an officer adorned in medical blue with a sole pip on her collar. She gave the two of them a curious look, mostly due to Robin's expression. She was astute enough to tell something was up, but kind enough not to pry into a matter that was not her business. Alyssa gave her a nod of respect and appreciation for her discretion.
When the doors to the turbolift opened, she allowed Robin to enter first. She stepped inside and commanded for the turbolift to take them to the brig. So far, their trip had been uncomfortably, though understandably, silent. Her thoughts still surrounded the whole incident. She had so many questions. What was really happening in that lounge? Were Bruce and Kinin being inappropriate? Was Robin there the whole time or had he joined later? What had pushed him to assault Bruce in such violent and vengeful manner. And then there was the Salor. He'd cited them as his reason. How were they involved? Had they done something to him to force this behavior? Too many questions; not enough answers
She turned to look at Robin. The man was a mystery to her in so many ways. She barely knew anything about him besides what rumor foretold. And she did not like relying upon rumor. They twisted and distorted the truth too much to be any certain what was fact and what was fiction.
A thought popped into her mind. No one was specifically waiting for them to arrive. They had time, and if this conversation took place in the brig, she might never get the answers she needed to help Robin. She had to do it.
"Computer, halt turbolift," Alyssa finally spoke up. A brief moment later, the 'lift came to a smooth halt leaving the two alone and removed from an unwanted audience. She turned her body towards Robin, and looked at him directly.
"Lieutenant, I need to know what happened in there." It wasn't an order as much as it was a request, but there was an undertone to her words that communicated a sense of empathy. She hoped he would understand that she was not trying to harm him. She knew that he did not know her beyond the occasional shifts together, but Alyssa banked on Robin's willingness to trust her.
Without it, there was nothing she could do.
