Zakary was in a good mood, but no one knew that because there was nothing out of the ordinary showing in his regular stoic expressions. For him, the real mystery was why he was happy. He felt relaxed when he woke up this morning, everything had gone according to plan for the day so far, no accidents, no silly calls and no red alerts for a change. He guessed all that added up into a good mood.
He placed a rifle back to its rightful place on the rack and glanced around to see that everything was in order. They were all working. He allowed himself a tiny smile before moving to exit the room.
"Brace for impact!"
Zak didn't need to be told twice. Not knowing how long he had, Zak shoved himself up against the wall, stretching out his arms to find a grip on any kind of groove. From afar, it was probably a comical sight as it looked like Zak was hugging the wall. However, it would have been a brief laugh as the impact followed almost straight away.
Zak and the rest of the current officers held on tight to whatever they held onto, most were successful but one unfortunate fellow fell out of their chair. The lights dimmed and flickered for a second before illuminating in full force.
"What happened?!" Someone yelled out.
Releasing his grip from the wall, Zak approached the main office console.
"Something collided with the ship." Zak offered.
"Thank you Ensign obvious but we're going to need a bit more than that!"
"There is no more than that, sir. I can't access the primary sensor logs." Zak told the angry voice.
Zak's good mood was gone and such, it was just like another day on the Talon.
