Her uniform. She should have worn her uniform. She was convinced of that now more than ever. Instead, she had allowed herself to be talked into this ridiculous dress, and all for some blind date. Honestly, she wasn't even sure why she had allowed things to go this far. It was clearly the danger of having friends. They always wanted to play matchmaker with the people in their lives. And here she was, waiting in a restaurant for someone to show up when she could have been doing... well, anything else. There were almost certainly reports she could have been reviewing, repairs to make, there may even have been some sort of survey she could have gone on. Alas, here she was here, stuck in a restaurant with people constantly staring in her direction like she was one of those lobsters in the tank.
The chime of her comm badge was a welcome distraction. For all she knew, it was just the excuse she needed to put an end to this torture. She fumbled through the dark fabric and found her comm badge. "Braddock, here. Go ahead."
\\"You asked us to inform when the Merrimak entered the sector. We've just received word that they've been recalled to DS9, sir."
Strangely enough, Henri actually felt a tad disappointed, despite all of her earlier protests. It appeared she had gotten all 'dolled' up for nothing. She had been wondering what could be more embarrassing than getting ready for a date with a complete stranger... well, getting stood up on a date with a complete stranger was certainly just that. "Understood. Braddock, out."
Well, there was no need to stretch things out any further. Perhaps she could put it all to a quick and merciful end. She just needed to find a waiter so that she could charge whatever credits necessary to her account. Her eyes moved around the entire room, but there didn't seem to be a single one in sight. Typical.
