Although yet to meet the ships new chief of department, Tyrel still couldn't help but have a good feeling about his new assignment. Sure it wasn't going to be easy, especially with the Talon's reputation and knack for getting into trouble, but then he supposed that was something they had in common. As well as the gift of being able to find a miracle fix that got them out of said trouble!
Tyrel had never been one to make things easy on himself, always striving to find the next big challenge in the never ending struggle against the evil known as boredom! Many accused him of being child like in that regard, but to him it was just another way of seeing the universe. That was the whole reason he had become a scientist, after all, to experience that which most could only dream of! That and perhaps his parents expectations had come into a play a little. Just a little though, as he like the other Kayden children had his own minds and goals. Even he, while taking up his parents profession, had joined Starfleet rather than remain at the Science Institute! A small act of rebellion, he supposed, but then why did that even concern him so much? It wasn't as if their parents had their hearts set on each of them continuing their work, in fact as far as he could make out they were proud and supportive of each and every one of them. Even the more insecure among them.
That was enough on family matters though, although there was actually little to do around here when in dock. The 'duty' he had been forced to excuse himself for had been little more than an induction to the Talon and assisting with prep work for the next mission, whatever that would be. Still, that was important too and everyone had to start somewhere. Even if it was inventory! Not the most fun thing to do, but with everything else currently in hand, orders were orders!
