"I have no idea. I'll keep looking. You're welcome to try sorting through this stuff too,"
Ruby stared focusedly at the patient in front of her, resisting the tick to roll her eyes at her superior. A drama queen. That was a perfect quality to have in a doctor. She glanced to the side at Nila with a look of dissatisfaction, and then bobbed her head quickly towards the patient that she was overlooking. Did she mind? She was a bit busy.
Her scan was done, and yet she was still getting crap from this lady. Right. So, the male was receptive to advice, the female was not? The corner of her lip quivered upwards in a curl. Maybe Roshan was feeling out of her element. She couldn't blame her. It wasn't often that your experience in your field was suddenly stripped from you and you were thrust upon a new species.
Oh wait. Exploratory vessels.
"In the mean time, let's at least start them on a balanced electrolyte solution. Here,"
She had a pad put into her hand and grabbed it before she accidentally dropped the damn thing. Her lips pursed and she put it off to the side for a moment. Holy hot digging targ dung, did this woman not see the patient right in front of her? She had to keep her jaw firmly shut to not burst out with some kind of protest. She glanced up at Luis and exhaled through her nose before speaking.
"At any rate. I'm getting the same kind of scans you are. Seems like their immune systems are similar to ours in the fact that this kid seems to be a little worse off than his mom. Not significantly so, only by a few points, shouldn't be something that's too detrimental." She looked down at the kid and grinned. "You'll be alright, bud. Give me a little bit, I just gotta quickly look something up, mm'kay?"
She grabbed the pad and started to scroll through the different entries with her finger. She wasn't trained for research, she was trained for triage, why the hell was she doing this? Her neutral expression didn't really help her look like she wasn't ticked off by her latest assignment. What was the old Earth saying? Too many commanders, not enough grunts? Something like that. She had two superior officers dragging her in two different directions, and she wasn't happy about it.
She flicked through each entry and specifically looked for keywords that related to what they were experiencing. High temperatures, joint distress, lethargy, confusion, elevated white blood cells. On Earth, she would have simply told them to take an antibiotic, get the replicator to make up some soup and told them to get bedrest. She glanced up at the other two doctors. Maybe it was that simple, that all they needed was such a thing, but then why would they all be sitting here in this lab if it were that simple? She certainly wasn't going to bring it up. Not after how well her last suggestion was taken.
"Can we get a consult with a Pewdin physician,"
And now she was getting loud. She may have been shrill, but Ruby supposed if she thought it would get results, she could yell as loud as she pleased.
