Always one to follow her own advice when she could, Georgia had been sure to grab herself a decent amount of sleep that night. Well, she tried, anyway; more than once she woke, thinking of Hunter lying on his bed staring at the ceiling with haunted eyes.
But still, the Georgia Button that re-entered the lab was enthused about the project nonetheless. She and Yolanda had got a lot done the previous day, and by the time they'd finished last night Georgia had left the Commander handing out more tasks to others to speed the process further.
It had been a while since she'd last been involved in something quite so exciting. Aside from the implications of the various discoveries and conjecture about the device, Georgie knew that the weapon was definitely in the category of "superior technology". And what operations officer, or Starfleet officer for that matter, wouldn't be excited about getting to poke around with that?
Looking around the lab as she entered she couldn't see Vargas anywhere, but that didn't mean anything. She half expected the woman to be sat under a bench meddling with a relay. As far as science chiefs went, Yolanda was certainly unlike any other Georgia had ever worked with.
She tapped at a nearby console as she swung herself into the seat, pulling up the data from where they'd left off. They were over 70% of the way now to finishing the asteroid puzzle, though their progress was definitely slower the further through they got.
"Morning," said one of the techs as he walked in, eyeing Georgia a little more suspiciously than his tone implied. "Coffee?"
Georgia nodded.
"Please," she said. "Vanilla latte." It was generally safer to order something that had to come out of the replicator than risking filter coffee that might be brewing somewhere in the lab. She'd heard stories about what the lab techs used when they ran out of proper coffee filters.
