"Please, let me see. Even if you just hold it up...I need to know."
Eden had volunteered to take the "newlings" so that Grace didn't have to and to keep the chain of custody legal and intact. If anything happened then Grace would be far more helpful medically and Eden already knew that she could handle even the most stern of lectures. It was strange to hold as so many tiny bodies squirmed but the nurturing, motherly instinct buried in her bones found a way that was comfortable for all of them despite the odd baby business that her and Taylor had endured on SGE.
"I'll show you but you gotta take a step back from the force field," the woman insisted sternly, her bright eyes issuing a severe glare. The barrier between them was to separate them safely but it was not to be touched for a variety of safety reasons for everyone on either side.
When the man, overwhelmed with concern for the newlings, finally satisfied her request she carefully held up the wiggling glove to be viewed. Now would have been a ripe opportunity to press the Ga'rick Alahr for answers but her lack of knowledge gave her a lack of questions.
"So," Eden nestled the fledging lives back into her bosom, carefully supporting the evidence with her warm hands and effectively covering the newlings from the prisoner's view, "if Doctor Ericson kept your newling safe and healthy then why did you kill him?"
Everyone wanted to know, breathless for the answer that would give them an entirely new list of things to wonder about, but Eden had approached the inquiry with her own unique blend of trained coolness and innate warmth.
While the question lingered the science team that they'd been informed of allowed themselves entry while maintaining the lock down, preparing themselves and their equipment to collect the new lifeforms that had been born on board the Talon.
Eden knew that soon she would have to contact Jenison or Roman but the only voice she was interested in this second was the one in the brig.
