As he stared into the small monitor, B'ranon was quite certain that the scowl on the face of the Admiral would have to be surgically removed. He took a deep breath as he got was a considerable earful. "I understand entirely, sir," he began to explain. "In fact, he's speaking with the Hezak this very moment. Professionally, I wouldn't advise interrupting at this time. Captain Monroe has a unique opportunity to defuse the...."
He found himself cut off again as the Admiral went on another tirade. The admiral knew he was being handled, and he didn't like it one bit. And some of the choice vocabulary that was being used was a clear indication of that. B'ranon was grateful for the interruption that happened on the other side of the screen. The Admiral said that his attention was needed elsewhere. B'ranon had some idea of what could actually pull the man away. He only hoped the Captain had managed to convince the ruler of the Etimonians to desist.
Taking a deep breath, B'ranon turned to look in the direction of the person that had actually requested his presence. "You know," he began, "when you asked me to come up here, I thought it was to hand you a microspanner or to change out a few relays. I didn't expect... this."
Of course, in anyone's defense, no one ever expected a Blue Alert... especially while docked at a space station. B'ranon reclined in the chair and shook his head. "Could things possibly get any worse?"
//"Monroe to Bridge."//
B'ranon almost instantly regretted asked the question. Experience should have told him to never ask such questions while sitting on the Bridge... center chair or not.
//"Locate Lieutenant Tiria zh'Aann."//
B'ranon was all too familiar with the name. That was the wife of Doctor Sig Ericson, and the counselor was well aware of why the Captain was seeking that information. It was the final piece of a tragic puzzle that made all the losses they had suffered seem so real. "Yes, sir," he replied. "We'll get that information for you right now." He looked over at the ops station and nodded.
