It was quite a journey and Haywood several time began to think that Tahp was giving them the old run-around. They managed to take a turbolift for part of the trip until it failed and they had to crawl out and utilize the J-tubes. With Tahp in that skirt of hers, there were several opportunities for Haywood to see how far some of her spots went as she crawled around the ship. Finally, they arrived at the exit to deck seven.
"Why deck seven," Haywood asked, but Tahp was already at a run toward a doorway, which slid easily aside.
"We're in the morgue?!" This had to be a joke, and a sick one at that.
"You can go now," Tahp said.
"Uh uh," Haywood shook his head. "You're going to hang out...here?"
"Sort of?" Tahp hated lying to Haywood. For one thing, he was very sweet, and it didn't hurt that he was cute. After getting that security stare from the officer, Tahp sighed. "Fine. Just...Phillips should not know you know." Especially Robin, since he was technically under arrest.
She walked to a wall and put her hand on what looked to be a random spot. An audible click echoed behind the metal panel and a section moved backwards slightly and then to the side. "Happy now," she asked Haywood. "Now go."
"Not on your life," Haywood said, pushing past her as he entered the hidden room. He knew part of this deck was allocated for future expansion, but this was not on the schematics.
Furious, Tahp followed. "Phillips is going to-"
"Wow..." Haywood stood in place, looking around. "What is this place?"
The room was small, but it was loaded with all sorts of Etimonian plants which covered the walls and ceiling. The temperature was different, warm and humid, and there was a small chair tucked away among a tangle of vines. Soft lighting, shadowed by leaves, dappled the trio of onlookers.
"Compensation," Tahp said.
