Why was he such an idiot? Robin shook his head as he walked down one of the deep streets of Nuvia, lined with colourful bars, clubs and various restaurants. There was even a few outdoor dance floors with crowds appreciating the wild flexible dances, or even some of the more slow ones.
Despite his frustrations, Robin had to admit that the warmth and the soft breeze was pleasant against his face and his body of which was only covered by khaki shorts and a thin white open shirt without any buttons. It was way too warm to wear anything more, unless it was night time.
Robin came to a halt in the middle of the street and sighed. He wanted to ram his head into the nearest something. Where the hell was she? He had been trying to find Kinin as he had no idea she was going to be in near or on Risa, no one had told him she was back!
That was until he bumped into a fellow crewmember who claimed to have seen Kinin. Usually contacting her wouldn't be such a problem but the idiot inside of him had somehow compelled him to set foot on Risa without a commbadge.
So he had been wandering around for a short while hoping to magically bump into her as well but it was clear now that he had to re-think his strategy. It was fairly simple, get back to a ship, get a commbadge and contact her but just as he was about to turn around, a hand fell on his shoulder and turned him the other way around.
"Hello there friend!" Said a risan man with a wide friendly smile and short blonde hair. He was dressed as a risan usually was, which wasn't much. Behind him was a group of other risans, both male and female.
"Uh, hi." Robin said, hoping his confused look didn't offend the group but they were hardly phased by it.
"What's a man such as yourself doing here all alone." The main man asked, he almost looked concerned as if it was a crime that Robin wasn't walking with anyone.
"I'm looking for someone and-" Robin tried to explain but the man only grinned and shot a look at his friends before responding.
"Don't fret friend, we've found you! And we can help you find someone." He said with a wink.
Robin frowned, trying to catch the meaning of what the man meant. On this planet it could mean several things.
"Um, thanks but I'm fi-" Robin began, only to get cut off once more.
"Nonsense! We'll make sure your day on Risa is as wonderful as it can be! Come on, we know just the place!" The man boasted, the others nodded in agreement. Before Robin could understand what was going on he was being dragged through the street, he tried to pry himself away but he was literally surrounded and squished by the rest of the group hobbling around him. He was pretty sure the woman behind him was pressing her front against his back a little too eagerly.
Where was Kinin when you needed her?
Robin tried to explain himself but it was clear the group were having none of it and soon he found himself approaching a building. It looked normal enough, on top of the door was a large sign with Risan symbols and beside it were two silhouetted figures of a man and a woman dancing.
"Uh, what does that mean?" Robin asked.
"Lots of Joy!" One of the group responded.
Robin mentally shrugged, he guessed it was just a regular dance club or something. He'll be lead inside, he'll have a polite look around and then he can be on his way, thanking the group for, uh, whatever it was they were trying to do.
They soon arrived inside and passed through a small lobby area until they entered the main attraction.
It was certainly a club.
There was a bar.
Lots of seating and tables.
But there was also a lot of raised platforms and poles...
And people dancing over them. Both men and women.
Was this a strip club? It certainly seemed so, his mind agreed whilst his eyes absorbed the rather tantalising view of the female dancers. Was that an Orion? His cheeks flushed, probably because of the enclosed space just being a little warmer, that's all.
The group around him shuffled him towards the nearest seating area, a crescent curved sofa that surrounded a circular table that blended seamlessly with a small platform. Robin tried to move away but the group was adamant, almost shoving him into the middle of the sofa.
As soon as he was sitted he was met with a large amount of buxom flesh belonging to a young blonde risan woman leaning forward. She was hardly wearing anything but enough to leave something to the imagination. She straightened up, smirking at Robin as she stepped backwards into the pole.
"Um, this is uh, nice but I shou-" Robin tried to stand up but risans beside him dragged him back into his seat.
"Hold on there friend, It's disrespectful to leave within the middle of a dance routine! It's a wonderful art and should be appreciated." Said the main man.
Robin frowned, guiltily. There was an odd sense to that, and given that it seemed to be some kind of tradition he supposed it would be quite rude if he left. He sighed and nodded reluctantly. As a starfleet officer you had to respect the customs of alien places, especially when you were the guest.
"Alright, how long are the dances?" Robin asked, probably not long. A few minutes and he can get out of here.
"Oh the dancers here are very good, some of their routines can go on for 20 minutes!" Said one of the group.
Robin's eyes widened upon hearing that. Not just because of the absurdity but just how impressive that was. You needed a lot of stamina for that. And to top it all off... his security escort! Did that mean they were going to come inside? What were they going to think? Would they tell Kinin?
Robin took back his earlier thought, where was Kinin when you didn't need her?
"Besides," A woman beside him said, "I think she likes you." The woman giggled and Robin looked to the dancer and sure enough, her gaze seemed to be entirely focused on him. Once or twice her eye dipped between the open space of his shirt that bared his chest.
Robin cleared his throat, feeling his cheeks getting hotter, probably more out of embarrasment now if the observer would indeed see him. Hell, he didn't even know who it was, he had been told someone would be observing him but not who. It would have been useful to know because he could have probably found them and asked them for a commbadge, avoiding all this mess!
For next minute or so, Robin sat back and keep his hands on his legs, fingers tapping and watched as respectfully as he could the woman gyrate in front of him. He had to admit, she was a good dancer, it was difficult to not want to watch purely out of respect. It didn't hurt that she was quite attractive.
During the next few minutes one of the group had disappeared and returned with a lot of drinks, they were very invested in getting Robin to try one in particular. "It'll get you in the mood!" They claimed and he instantly avoided the beverage like the plague.
A minute or so later, Robin could feel someone was trying to give him something. The pilot frowned and half turned to see one of the people pushing a statue into his hands. He instantly recognized the horga'hn and his eyes widened and in a fumbling attempt to get rid of it, it flew from his hands and landed onto the platform straight up.
Robin's mouth fell open, he hoped that didn't mean anything. Just an honest mistake.
The dancer on the other hand, saw the statue and grinned at Robin before performing a sensual move of crawling towards the statue. She then poked a tongue out to lick the top of it whilst staring into Robin's eyes.
Robin tried to swallow his suddenly dry throat.
Uh oh, he thought to himself. On the bright side that probably meant the dance was over, right?
Tag: Anyone!
