"Ooh, thanks," Cobus said, grabbing a pear drink from a cocktail tray that was making the rounds.
The Bajoran did a borderline disturbing impersonation of Tahp's shadow. Perhaps Tek was hopeful that Tahp would choose her next sex partner by proximity alone. And they said romance was dead.
Speaking of romance, Henri didn't seem in any rush to give up her physical contact with Cobus. He left his arm around her too, because, frankly, it was less rude and less awkward than shrugging her off.
"Sir, they are doing an experiment over changes to pa- to aura... in regards to contact of a... sexual nature."
"Of course they are," he remarked with a grin, sounding lightyears from shocked or horrified. Risa seemed an appropriate place as any to carry out such an experiment.
"I think Tahp's wasted,"
Cobus raised an eyebrow, looking to Henri. He wasn't convinced that Tahp was the only one who was wasted. Braddock seemed unusually cuddly. Still, Tahp's unique perspective on his aura was something he was interested in hearing. He was naturally fascinated by Etimonian culture, by the Ohrna, and the remarkable similarities and differences between their species.
"Too many to count,"
"Hey now, I can count every single one of them," he scolded her with a pointed finger and a grin. He did wonder what she saw, and if she could differentiate between hosts past and present.
"Tek's going to get busy with our new friend over there."
"Sure," he sounded just as unimpressed as he had by the premise of this whole experiment. For whatever reason, Cobus had the distinct impression that neither of them had quite agreed to these "sexperiments". He was starting to agree with Henri's interpretation of Tahp's inebriated state.
Clearly the drunk was talking, as this was easily turning into the worse science experiment the universe had ever seen. He was actually a little disappointed; he liked to think that when he did drunk science he was, well, a little more scientific about it. Fortunately, he had the common decency to only do drunk science in his quarters, usually with Eilidh. Typical themes included time travel, space-folding, and bad ass ice cream machines.
"When does life get easier... sir?"
"Life never gets easier, you just get better at it. I could really go for a hamburger," he added.
Cobus was certainly not taking photos for "science". As Tahp grabbed Tek, he rolled his eyes and tossed the holoimager at the tabletop with all the care of an expert engineer who'd never broken something he couldn't fix.
