Clearly, the universe was impatient. It couldn’t wait for the Talon’s crew to even get back to their ship before they were once against thrust into a situation fighting for their survival, immediately after vacation no less! It was like they were the universe’s number guinea pig and today was going to be yet another experiment of their tenacity.
Whatever it was that had caused their crash, it was had been swift and a hell of a bumpy ride. He was amazed by how un-injured he was upon waking from the crash, just a lot of bruises, scratches and a hell of a headache but all that became trivial when their crash site was invaded by large machines-like entities. He heard laser and gun fire, several minor explosions and he couldn’t tell through the smoke and fire if the metallic screeches were from the machine’s mechanical vocals or their tearing through metal to get to trapped survivors.
Robin’s first instinct had been to find Kinin but local screams beckoned him to the nearest people that looked to be in trouble. There was one crewmember on the ground nearby, pinned by a piece of heavy metal keeping her leg in place. With help of two more officers they managed to lift the debri and get the woman moving but a sudden barrage of weapon fire separated him from them until he was forced, with regret, to run away from the wreckage.
He sprinted into the nearest cover which just happened to be an incredibly green forest, even the tree bark was almost green but he had little time to pay attention to the details as he ran hard and fast. Eventually he entered a small clearing with a boulder in the middle, he stopped to lean against the rock, panting. He had moved far enough so that he was now out of earshot of any remaining metallic screeches or human screams.
Shortly after he saw three other people enter the clearing, Commander Sula, which was somewhat of a relief even if he didn’t know the guy yet. It was always good to have someone high up the ladder in a crisis situation with you. There was also… a woman he did not know, and then William Hunter. A part of him couldn’t help but wonder if he was running or just following the woman’s backside, no doubt it was probably just as nice as every other woman’s butt onboard.
“You guys okay?” He asked, wiping his dust covered face with the back of his hand. He stepped away from the rock to approach the others and see for himself if anyone looked hurt. In the forest he stood out like a sore thumb, almost literally as he was out of uniform and wearing a red t-shirt and blue jeans.
Suddenly the air was filled with a loud rumbling as what looked to be some kind of early 21st century fighter jet flew overhead and was now turning around, its nose pointed directly at them.
“Cover!” Robin yelled out but before the jet even had a chance to fire, a slew of gunfire sounded from another direction in the air, even though there was no sight of their origin, or even any sign of bullets. Whatever it was, the gunfire had seemed to work as the jet broke into pieces and crashed towards somewhere else in the forest.
“What the?” Robin found himself muttering aloud, more than a little confused by what just happened, and what had happened before that as well.
Then, a new sound surrounded them. A series of loud clicks along with the rustling of nearby bushes.
“Freeze!” Shouted a voice as figures starting appearing from the foliage, they all looked humanoid in shape and size. They were wearing very green camouflage but after a moment Robin realised they were all entirely completely green… and had old projectile like guns.
And that wasn’t even the weirdest part. Their feet seemed to be glued to some kind of platform underneath as if they was really their feet?
The green soldiers had them entirely surrounded, and probably more confounded.
“On your knees, now! Hands on your head!” Said one who was standing back with a pistol in one hand and binoculars in the other.
Robin was more than a little stunned at the sight, which caused another outburst from the Captain of the soldiers.
“Knees on the ground, hands on head, I won’t say it a third time!” He shouted.
Robin didn’t like it but he slowly heeded the man’s words.
The Captain turned to a soldier who had a large backpack and was wearing a headset.
“Tell foam-team Delta to sweep area and get down here ASAP.”
“Yes sir!” The communication officer pulled a microphone from his backpack and talked into it, confirming the order before another voice crackled through the radio.
“Sir, Beta team has confirmed Queen Holly’s forces are in the area well.”
“Blast!” The Captain cursed, “I want them followed, I want intel on everyone they have with them.”
The comm officer nodded as the Captain moved forwards to survey the 4 Starfleet officers.
“Foam-team Delta reports they’re completed the sweep and are coming down.” Reported the comm officer.
“Good.” The Captain said as he put away his binoculars and raised his platform and hobbled forwards a few paces.
“Who are you?” He asked the Starfleet officers before holding out a flat hand to the air, after a few seconds a pair of tiny WW2 planes drifted down from the sky and landed on the Captain’s green non-separated fingered hand.
