Nevir had absolutely no idea how it happened.. or what happened for that matter. The reading he had planned for his ordered vacation had really gone to the wayside for his outing with Coardi, and then the events with Tahp, Cobus, and Henri. And he had to say, for the first time, things just seemed to go right. He made sure to keep the people he was with safe, and there was no compromise like what happened last time. He remembered distinctly looking forward to see Tahp, and then to another part to see Coardi, smiling. And then his PADD flickered for a moment. But after that...
"Prophets!" he screamed as some huge robotic ancient vehicle being slammed its weirdly shaped claw into a cliff side while Nevir and some others with him took off in their selected direction. They were more than powerless to stop these giant robots, references that some seemed to recognize but were completely lost on the Bajoran. Instead of being able to figure out what caused the shuttle to fail, the shuttle itself was torn apart, leaving an entire complement of ship officers to literally scatter in an attempt to save their lives. It seemed there were more than enough of these lifeforms to keep up with the number of running groups, and communication was currently out of the question.
"A cave!" Nevir announced, pointing to an alcove with a distinct hole. He couldn't exactly test to see how strong it would be, but right now it was better than being in the open while some war robot barreled down on the now 4 man group. The others that were with them seemed to either change their minds... or worse. Nevir dashed through, a quick check to make sure it was more than just a scoop in the cliff, and gestured to the others to quickly run in. After the last one made it, Nevir ran back with the others as the robot's scooper barreled through the opening of the cave, stopping short of the back wall. The cave entrance crumbled and fell on the arm; forcing it to pull out, burying the cave entrance in the process. Finally out of immediately danger, the group moved through another opening deeper into the mountain, in case the robot decided to try to push through the blocked opening.
He couldn't remember how far they moved through, or how long they walked, but finally it felt like they were relatively safe. It was at least quiet, if dim. The walls felt soft and molded with the touch of a hand, but otherwise there was nothing special going on. The group seemed to be catching their breath, while Nevir checked his pockets for anything he might have kept with him. A single PADD.. but no tricorder. He would end up being blind. The Bajoran looked at who he had with him. Loch, Kinin, and Diran. He could only hope that Tahp and Coardi were safe.
"Everyone alright?" Nevir said, pushing himself back up. It wasn't exactly easy to see in the cave, but he was able to make out the general shape of the cave and the other three figured. Nevir played with the settings of the PADD, to increase it's visual output, and then tossed it onto the ground near the middle. The small room's light level increased with the make-shift light source. It wouldn't last long, but it would be the best he had for now.
There was a bit of a shine reflecting near Diran that Nevir saw, and for a moment he wondered if it was carried, but further study showed that it was actually pushed up into a wall. It looked like some sort of orb.
"Hey.. what's that over there, Diran?" he said, too tired to walk over and find out himself.
