The shuttle launched from the transport and made its way toward the starbase. Deep Space 10. Her temporary home that housed her new permanent home. For T'Laina, it was easy to so quickly designate a new location as 'home'. She had no attachment to her former place of residence. As the shuttle entered the base, she spotted the ship from her place in the copilot's seat, berthed with crews fluttering about it. They looked like flies from this distance. The USS Talon, undergoing heavy repair currently, though the work was well on its way. Her first ship and first opportunity to truly discover. To be at the forefront of knowledge becoming fact firsthand. That was where a true scientist needed to be.
However, waiting was still required. The ship's status was on leave and T'Laina would be joining the science team once it launched again. In the meantime she would spend her time on Deep Space 10. T'Laina was most uninterested in leave and hoped there would be something interesting to do while she waited. She did intend to study the station itself. Always eager to learn, it would be most agreeable if she could pick up a few things about its design and construction beyond what the schematics could tell her.
The shuttle connected to a docking port and T'Laina rose and picked up her luggage. The airlock opened and she stepped out into the corridor. When the airlock resealed itself, the shuttle took off to return to the transport and continue on its way. T'Laina was greeted by a crewmen who checked her orders, then allowed her to continue on her way. She straightened her uniform, which she was already wearing, refused assistance with her things, and carried on into the station.
