Hudson sat in the middle of the room, her bottom firmly planted on the small trunk that contained all that she was allowed to bring. Much had been left at the Academy, stored away until she returned. Honestly, what did she really need that a replicator couldn't provide? Some mementos, a few pieces of original art, nothing that needed to come with her. The trunk, actually, was merely symbolic, at least to Hudson. Most of what she valued could not be contained in a trunk.
As she looked around the long line of beds, she smirked. Cadets of all genders would be sharing the room, no matter their apprehensions or hangups. Privacy could still be found in the bathrooms, but Hudson couldn't wait to watch the others attempting to hold onto the last remnants of their modesty.
Standing, Hudson wandered the row, testing beds, watching where the vents poured cold air in, and making her selection.
"This one," she smiled before pulling a red lace bra from her trunk and tossing it onto the pillow of the bed of her choice. The trunk she slid into the alcove designated just for that purpose. Unpacking would come later, but she had effectively marked her territory. She moved over to one of several computer consoles and sat before it. Inputting her codes, she queried the computer to display the crew list of the USS Talon. So many names, so many she didn't know. Having been the Talon's janitor, she used to know so many. No longer.
However, a few names stood out, one in particular. "Remember me," she asked, tracing his digital jaw with the tip of her finger.
