She had never felt safer than when she was wrapped from his arms. It gave her a true sense of refuge, as if there was no danger that could touch her. It was one that she didn't want to end. She knew it was foolish and juvenile, but she couldn't help but believe that another kiss would just wipe away all the bad of the past few days. What happened between them on Risa... being trapped on that Toy World... the guilt of making out with Lt. Commander Sur'Shess and Kealan barely minutes apart. Still, she felt that he could somehow make it all go away... if only for a moment.
"You have all been found guilty and have been placed in your final locations for your pathetic existence."
Grace's brow furrowed as she stirred upon the bed. Her eyes were still closed, but she felt that she had to be dreaming. She could hear a woman's voice, but it was foreign to her. She had no idea who this person was. But she was obviously being blamed for something.
"Out of respect for my Father, I will allow you to choose the manner of your death, which will be carried out by those sharing your location."
A moan left Grace's lips as she tossed once again upon the mattress. None of this made sense. She tried to will herself to awaken from her slumber. It had to be a nightmare. How cruel did someone have to be to ask you to choose how you wanted to die? And her father...? Grace hadn't treated anyone in days?
"Failure to comply will result in all those whom you love to perish. You have twenty-four hours."
Suddenly, Grace's eyes opened as she sat up in bed. Her chest was rising and falling rapidly. It had been a nightmare. It had to have been. She took a deep breath in an attempt to lower her heart rate and calm down. Though, as she looked around, nothing seemed familiar. She wasn't in Sickbay... and these weren't her quarters. "Computer... lights."
As the room illuminated, Grace's eyes grew even wider. Judging by the decor, it was a Federation starship... perhaps even the Talon, but it certainly wasn't her quarters. She had no idea where she was or who's quarters these were. "Computer, what's my current location?"
"You are currently on Deck 3, Section 11 Alpha," the computer replied.
"Deck 3?!" Grace repeated. "Those are officer's quarters." She had no idea why she was speaking aloud, when there was no one there to talk to. She quickly got out of the bed feeling quite a bit like Goldilocks. She only hoped that she wouldn't find three bears or an angry Lieutenant on the other side of the bedroom door, because she still had no idea how she had gotten there. Had she sleep-walked? And if so... how much of what she recalled was a dream? Perhaps she hadn't made out with Lt. Commander Sur'Shess or kissed Kealan? Yet, it felt so real.
Sliding off the bed Grace quickly got to her feet and moved towards the bedroom door. Once she stepped outside, however, she quickly realized that it was too late. Someone must have found her and called Security. "Eden?" she said recognizing the Security officer. "I'm really sorry, and I wish I could explain. I have no idea how I even got into these quarters."
Grace was pretty sure that her story was sounding pretty bad. Surely, she hadn't just popped up in someone's bedroom randomly. "I just woke up in someone's bed, and... before that I had this crazy dream of kissing Kealan and some woman telling me I had to choose how I wanted to die within the next twenty-four hours." Grace let out a long sigh. "I know it doesn't make any sense. I just...." Grace shrugged completely confused and certain that everything she had just said sounded like complete gibberish. She was pretty sure that Eden was probably debating whether she needed to take Grace to the Brig or Sickbay. Still, she awaited the fate that the security officer would bestow upon her. In the pit of her stomach though, she was hoping that this was just another part of that same crazy dream.
