The Eagle's Nest instantly vanished and was replaced with the surroundings of what appeared to be starship quarters. B'ranon looked around instantly. There was no sign of Aeryn, Myles or anyone else that had been in the Nest. Instead, the only other person in sight was one of the Bajoran science officers, Tekison Nevir. "Nevir?" The counselor had questions. He wanted to know how he had come to be in those quarters. It hadn't felt like a traditional transport. And then, instead of answers, he found himself having only more questions.
"You have all been found guilty and have been placed in your final locations for your pathetic existence."
A woman's voice. Though... there didn't appear to be anyone else in the room. Though, B'ranon wasn't under the impression that he was the only one that heard the voice. His eyes instinctively fell upon Nevir, to see if he had heard the same voice as he.
She spoke with authority. Power. Had she been the one responsible for moving him from the Eagle's Nest to here? It was the most logical conclusion. B'ranon concentrated on her words. She stated that they'd all been found guilty. Considering her choice of words, it wasn't just himself and Teksion that were in trouble. It was possible that the entire ship had been rendered the same verdict. But why? B'ranon's eyes fell upon Tek once more. Was this his fault as well? B'ranon hated to make assumptions, but it hadn't been that long ago that he had almost inadvertently started a war.
'Pathetic existence.' It only added the notion that she was someone of power. Almost as if they were insignificant. It hinted a state of arrogance... of superiority. It was akin to her being having the station of a monarch. No... something beyond that. As a monarch, she would seek their approval, their adoration. She sounded as if she were something greater. Something like... a deity. Yet, even if that were the case, why bother? Why waste time on something that was truly beneath her?
"Out of respect for my Father, I will allow you to choose the manner of your death, which will be carried out by those sharing your location. Failure to comply will result in all those whom you love to perish. You have twenty-four hours."
Her father? B'ranon's eyes widened. It was entirely possible that they had never even met this woman. Though, it was likely that it was her father that they had known. B'ranon inhaled deeply as pieces of a very dreary puzzle began to come together. Their oppressor was emotionally wounded... offended, likely by some unfortunate event her father had experienced. And either directly or indirectly, she viewed the Talon as responsible. It's even possible that they had some favor of her father's that she felt she deserved. And there was a great deal of animosity of spite that she felt towards them.
Great power... the ability to arrange and manipulate people seemingly effortlessly throughout the ship. The first being that came to mind was a Q. And the only one that B'ranon could recall the Talon coming in contact with was the Q known as Darby. B'ranon looked upon Nevir once more. "Ensign," he began, "I know that recent events have very confusing, and I hope that you don't take any offense, but I have to ask." B'ranon swallowed before uttering the words. "I need to know the names of everyone you've kissed or been intimate with since our leave on Risa. It's definitely a matter of life and death."
