Judging from Tahp's expression, Tegan knew she had accidentally dug a little hole for herself, and now she needed to find her way out of it. Best way was to move on! She hoped...
"According to Pelebian forecasts, it's not supposed to get cold, so maybe a bit away from the tent."
"Agreed!" Tegan searched the permieter for a good spot alongside Tahp.
"There?"
She followed the rock to Tahp's chosen spot and nodded. "There." Nearly skipping to her equipment bag, Tegan started her search for all the necessary fire-starting devices.
"I don't suppose you have a quicker method for starting one, do you?"
"You think I brought s'mores and hot dogs without a way to start a fire?" She teased Tahp. Admittedly, Tegan had a tendacy to be forgetful. How many times had she forgotten to bring her...?
A moment of fear struck her. She dug through her hygiene pack. It didn't long for her to realize that she had forgotten her toothbrush. Of course. Why would tonight be any different?
"I will warn you that these are intoxicating to Etimonians, but I don't care. I need to forget about decaying space bodies and have fun with you."
Tegan's gaze turned to Tahp with a mixture of surprise and amusement. Bananas? Was Tahp pulling her leg or was she actually telling the truth. Well...time would tell.
"I'm glad you're here with me."
With a joyous heart, Tegan wrapped both arms around Tahp and gave her friend a solid embrace. Her cheek gently pressed against Tahp's, and she held the hug for as long as she could. "And I'm glad you're with me."
It was the whole truth and nothing but the truth. She needed a friend like Tahp, and if that friend came with some benefits, it was all the better. Breaking the embrace, Tegan slid over to her bag once more.
"Well, if you are getting...drunk?" Is that what you called intoxication by banana? "Then I certainly can't let you do it alone." She yanked a bottle out, let it rise a few feet into the air, and grabbed it before it started to fall again.
"Something I've been saving for rainy day. After what we've all been through, I think it's time for a rainbow." She shook the bottle and a colorful display of ripples surged through liquid, dazzling Tegan as much now as it had the first time she had seen it. She felt it was appropriate for Peleb.
"Never tried it before. I guess it's supposed to be pretty potent for humans," She smiled at Tahp ready to find out fact from fiction.
