"Shhhh,"
Her quick reminder held his tongue as he held her close, something he would have never thought would happen this morning. The warmth emanating from her relaxed him, and finally, finally, the Bajoran was at peace. His only words afterwards was a thanks to her, for helping him see what an idiot he had been.
He almost threw away everything he held dear, for want of a hug.
When she protested, Nevir gave in and held her to him, letting him be the tunic he gave her a lifetime ago. His head had turned to Loch... there is someone who would probably find this.. shocking. The world around him had continued without their input, but now his ears were open. People were using their heads and trying to assess their situation. No more panicking or fear.
"And the detention of William Hunter seems to suggest that he's in someway responsible for our being here. I certainly doubt that his being here is a coincidence."
"True... but he's a resea-"
A gasp coming from his chest took his attention as he looked down at the Etimonian. Her eyes were wide, and for a moment, Nevir wondered if this was just like before.. Tahp wasn't in her right state of mind and now suddenly she was back. He was about to stand back to give her room when unmistakable footsteps seemed to skid to a halt outside of their cell. And a voice... there was only one person it could be.
"Tahp!"
Nevir took his step back, letting his arms loose, as the young engineering officer called her from the field. Nevir's eyes were on Tahp... she looked like a lightbulb popped in her head, and it wasn't something she was happy about.
"Tahp..."
She finally let go of him, and he let his arms drop without an issue, turning as Tahp moved to the doorway of the field. His eyes went to Kinin, but she didn't seem either angry or annoyed at him, two things he kinda expected considering the past history between him and Tahp.
"At least they're able to be doing something. As for William Hunter, I cannot believe he would willingly follow some random brass' agenda. He is too focused on his own work or women. That is the extent of his activities on the ship before..."
"Hunter is a science officer through and through, at least from last I can remember. A biologist if I remember. He discovered the truth behind the Ga'rik Alahr discarded cells... which saved the ship from being taken over." he said, debating whether to join Tahp at the doorway or let her have her moment with Tegan.
"I would think that he would be the best person to figure out what this thing is. To target specific species makes it biological and genetic. Why he's down here..." he said, shaking his head.
"Hunter lost his best friend, almost lost his commission when he tried to take over the ship in order to retaliate. Perhaps someone sensed his weakness and exploited it."
The Bajoran frowned, leaning against the back wall. Hunter tried to take over the ship? And he kept his commission and rank? Great....
"It's not Vargas, and couldn't be Sula or the Captain. Higher than them... the only people who have been on the ship since... that incident.... was Admiral Landeck and Commandant Stetson" he said, his eyes going back to Tahp and Tegan. He was trying to be careful... he didn't want to panic her again.
"If Hunter is involved, then its biological in nature. Something that targets our different genetic cells." he said, though it was clear he didn't really want to think of Hunter as the villain here. Sighing, he decided to move at least a bit towards Tahp and Tegan. If anything, Tegan would be able to give an idea of the state of the ship.
