"Wait...are you implying- If you think I have anything to do with what's just happened you're barking up the wrong tree and I resent the implication! I have work to do.... Ma'am."
Henri wasn't entirely sure how to take Bandon's outburst. Was it desperation and guilt, or panic because he was being wrongly accused. Either way, she didn't care for the tone. She lowered her tricorder and took a single step towards his direction. She was just about to remind Bandon of proper discourse and etiquette of a Starfleet officer when Shaw spoke up.
“We are not accusing you of anything, Lieutenant. We are just asking standard questions. Please, sit back down.”
Henri's eyes continued to watch Bandon as Shaw took over the questioning. She established that he had appeared when Hunter had been entering his latest log entry. Though, the more he spoke, the more significant his testimony appeared to be. Shedding even more light on the situation than Henri and Athena had discerned before.
"He normally brags about what he's working on, but not this time. I keep asking, and it just makes him mad. I even went so far as to...to... I'm sure you know how it is...you work with someone long enough, you know their login information. It's human nature, I think."
Braddock arched her eyebrow as she took a step forward. "Wait... you have access to Hunter's files?" she asked. "What exactly did you find?"
"When I logged on, I couldn't make heads or tails out of it. Something about nanites, which I know Ericson used once on Captain Alexander, but I thought were illegal, and then just another fungus experiment. Now if he stopped researching fungus, then I'd say that was uncharacteristic."
Braddock looked over towards Shaw. This was exactly what they needed. How was it possible that such a treasure trove had fallen into their laps. Braddock certainly wasn't going to question it.
"I don't think any of that's helpful to what you want, is it."
"I wouldn't say that, Mr. Bandon," Braddock remarked. "Now, if you'd be so kind as to provide us access to Mr. Hunter's files." This was exactly what they needed. And likely, this was something that Lt. Commander Vargas or Doctor Osler-Drew could find useful. Nanites and fungi. Braddock wasn't sure if the two were actually related. However, the best thing to do now was to put that information into hands that could. And now, it seemed that that included the Hyperion as well.
