Ruune was surprised that he still got certain looks from the crew and civilians aboard the station. He knew for a fact that the ensign he just passed, he had seen just a few days ago with a similar look of uncertainy on his face. It was not a bad thing per se, the power to install hesitance in someone was a powerful weapon. He just hoped that man in particular wasn't the one in charge of dispensing weapons during a possible attack.
He wore the clothes that had been specially made and fitted by Arella, fitting but loose and not so prone to tearing. Beyond that they were really quite simple, a grey-bluish shirt and grey trousers. He didn't want anything fancy or rather anything to draw attention to himself but that was an obvious impossibility with all these gaping mouths he kept running into.
The hirogen was on his way to the science lab much to his own surprise, they had requested that they see him to get a pure sample of his blood. At first Ruune was against the idea simply because he would be giving a part of himself to them to research, something they could use to exploit him, a physiological weakness.
But it would also be something of his that would in a sense, continue to live. When he died, something would live on and whilst he was far from attatched to his people, the blood would still be Hirogen.
Ruune reached the labs, walking into the room and for a moment he wondered if he had made a mistake. They hadn't made any mention of a security escort even after he said yes and yet those that saw him enter looked surprised that he was here.
The nearest officer in blue who was sat right next to the door cleared his throat and looked up at the behemoth. "Uh, you're early, run." A look of horror crossed the man's face, his cheeks reddening to the shade of an apple.
"I mean, uh, um..."
The Hirogen turned to fully face the man, staring down daggers into the man's eyes. "Ruune." He corrected simply.
"Oh yes, sorry Ruune." It was understandable, most people's first thought when they saw Ruune was probably to run. The man continued to fluster for a moment before looking around, seeing someone make a teasing snicker in his direction. The officer cleared his throat again, looking up at the larger alien.
"Um, take a seat over there please, Mr Ruune." The science officer gestured to one of the vacant and empty desks in the corner where he would await whoever was performing the proceedure.
Ruune remained still until he finally spoke, "I prefer to stand." He said before moving through the room to stand beside the empty chair.
"They'll be someone along shortly, like I said you're a bit early." The officer said, his mind going through what else he could say, maybe apologize again? He mentally shook his head before turning back to his work that seemed a lot less difficult now.
