"Well chosen. I know Dorian would approve of the strong name."
Henri smiled a bit at the thought. It was actually of some comfort to hear that she hadn't made a fool of herself. Her eyes moved from Tazer to the others, and to see Tahp smile and nod clinched it. Her eyes looked down at Dinah once more. "Welcome to the universe, little one."
Braddock had lifted her eyes as she saw Tahp reach out and hand Ra'Tok to Tazer. Her mind then went back to the dilemma that they had. There was, after all, still the question of what to do with these children. Her thoughts were interrupted by the look on Tahp's face. Clearly, the food was... simply put, bad. She seemed to make quite the effort to swallow the substance. With a look like that, clearly one couldn't call it food.
"Someone show me where you keep your food." Tazer was still smiling as he handed the child back to Tahp. One of the younger Etimonians rose and led him away to wherever they kept the food. It seemed that Tazer was full of more and more surprises. Naturally, the only question was why hadn't she seen any of this before? The Governor appeared to work hard to keep this side of himself hidden.
A few moments later, she watched as he and the young Etimonian that originally led him away returned. Once he was on the table, he removed a knife and started chopping vegetables. Tahp had moved nest to him to watch. There even seemed to be a slight finesse to his movements, one that didn't go unnoticed.
"So," Braddock said, "you've done this before?"
"Braddock, give me your phaser."
She carefully shifted Dinah's weight in her arm and pulled the phaser from its holster. She then held it out to him. Just as he was about to grab it, she tilted it up and just out of his reach. "And how do I know that we aren't better off with this rather than your cuisine?"
