Matthews rather strange trip to the only place he knew was on the way that was likely to have more tools and an EV suit or two was the engineering sections on the spacedock level themselves, that wasn't really an option so an EVA airlock had done the trick it had taken a threat of report or two but he had managed to get one, as much as he detested wearing them.
Making his way to the main light and gravity control panel the only real point where they crossed. point he had grabbed a micro resonator, ODN kit. the Turbo lift ride wasn't pleasant sometimes you had full gravity sometimes none sometimes partial. Matthew had decided after the first few levels to magnetise his boots. Shaking his head he realised he was going to need help with e gravity plating and a warning to make sure no one dropped from the ceiling to the floor when it came back online, but lights first.
The turbolift arrived after one of what felt like the longest trips almost two decks below and it had decided it wasn't going anywhere from there. Sighing and opening the doors after they only parted a few centimetres Matthew look out and found a floating crewman, sciences but still rather enjoying his time of zero gravity.
The lights had been flickering on and off every half second or so, but now they died with crackling and the screech of straining metal. Matthew turned the lights of the suit on and upon doing so found himself face to upside down face of the crewman. "Crewman, get to the floor and vacate the deck." Matthew ordered numbly.
The crewman's face screwed into one of disappointment. "But sir." He protested. "This is so much fun." Matthew face almost exploded. But it subsided when the Crewman pushed off a bulkhead towards the floor, the crew then disappeared along the floor behind Matthew.
Matthew left the crewman and found a bulged series of wall panels. Matthew pulled at an exposed edge and ripped the metal off where it had bulged which had been along the individual panel lines. Looking in he could see the chard remains of the light circuit and the scorched Gravity power cables, they had obviously been caused by an overload in the lighting circuits power and the plating had gone offline when it...
A flash as the gravity power cable split. that's odd the computer should have cut the power to this section... Looking back he realised the insulation had gone up, that also shouldn't happen unless it carbonized... Matthew pulled out a tricorder ans scanned the immediate area, magnetic fields had formed around the damaged circuits and cables in front of him this junction was handling a lot of power at the best of times it was powering almost 5 decks of lights and gravity plating.
That micro resonator was going to come in handy but first those circuits needed to be replaced. they were heavily damaged but salvageable for at least a few hours unless the station was going to fight off a fleet. Carefully pulling them out he examined each one carefully. most were fried almost as if an extremely high power EM pulse and massive power load had happened at once.
What Matthew really needed to know what how the computer was going, if it was dysfunctional and sending these kinds of power loads through light circuits it could perhaps do something similar with the station's reactors or systems that could endanger the station much more than missing lights and gravity. //"Howe to Chief engineer have some people watch the reactors I found some circuits have been both EM pulsed by the radiation and overloaded with power, take caution.//
He examined the main circuit more closely, he scanned it for radiation with his tricorder, it was practically irradiating the nearest metre around him. "Lucky I have an EV suit or I'de be in for a trip to the sickbay for radiation poisoning." He thought aloud. What I really need is a second pair of hands... //"Lieutenant Howe to engineering, I need an extra pair of hands at lights and plating crossover junction for the space dock core."// He waited hoping the comms were still up, they were but he looked into a suit display, it had been sent by the suits transmitter. That was odd, really really odd. he thought. He got a semi static filled response that "someone or someone's" was on their way.
He got a response that some decks were coming back up with light and gravity was ready to be restored, he had been left in command of the spacedock level repairs. Looking around trying to find the comms he realised he was a little lost on the station he wasn't going to call the command deck until station comms were back or if they couldn't be brought back quickly.
TAG: @seia, @siobhan,
((OOC I figured that the radiation coupled with possible computer damage could overload systems and to make repairs reasonable I could only personally repair a 5 or so deck junction box. also lights and gravity are down along with badge comms. I figured suit comms would work but not well since they would be much more powerful that badges which mostly just tap into the stations systems. Also I'm going to state that the reactors will be fine since they would probably much better shielded or prepared.))
