"Where on the planet are we heading?"
Oh. Perhaps he should have beamed down. He wondered if this parade was going to leave the station any time soon. Oh well, it at least afforded him the opportunity to people watch. And down on Etimon, he wasn't constantly at the Governors every beck and call. Plus.. if he bought valuable intel back to Tazer, he'd please the man.
"There's a lake there. A few rivers feed into the lake, and there's a waterfall. It's supposed to be pretty stunning."
"I have heard good things about the waterfalls of Etimon," Sterling commented. "I hear they are quite beautiful, especially at night when the luminescent fish illuminate the pools below." He'd pretty much memorized the Federation's database of information concerning Etimon, and was working on getting the stuff in Etimonian translated. He just needed a few more nights, he thought, in order to become fluent with the language.
"There's a replicator on board if you need to sort out anything you haven't brought."
Sterling didn't want to be that guy who didn't swim, so he got up, replicated a swimsuit and some other essentials, and headed back to his seat. Fortunately, there was a pattern in the replicator that wasn't too off-putting; black swim trunks with silver skulls. They reminded him of his favorite tie. He had replicated flip-flops too. Flippy floppy flippy floppy flippy floppy he sing-songed in his head. How unfortunate it was that these Starfleet types couldn't read his mind.
Maybe one of them could....
"Is everyone ready, then? If we're all good, then we can go."
"I'm ready," he said, then returned to his thoughts. He'd read a book once about thought projection. He focused hard on a single though, choosing something completely random. It would need to be a word that none of them would have thought of their own accord... He concentrated hard, repeating a single word over and over again in his mind. Honorificabilitudinitatibus.
