"Yes... could you run a scan of every fusion reactor for traces of trilithium please..."
After hearing Lieutenant Howe's request, Braddock slowly began to nod. Her eyes turned to her console and she proceeded to do as he asked. Deck by deck she commenced with a systematic scan. She wanted to be thorough and certain. She had her own thoughts on the matter, but thought it better to rely on the scans to confirm or deny them before she shared.
//"The release of Hyperion is appreciated. I'm sending you an eyes-only document. Read it, then delete it. Let me know if you need anything, Commander. Phillips, out."//
"Short and sweet," Roman replied after the transmission. "Did Hell freeze over today?"
Braddock returned the gesture of Roman's grin with a slight smirk of her own. "It did feel a bit chillier this morning." Henri took a deep breath. "Preparing to transport Commander Richards' party no-"
//"Richards here, what's going on?"//
Braddock let out a slight sigh of relief. "Just calling to ask you the same thing, Commander." Braddock paused to give Richards the chance to respond, but nothing seemed to come through. "Commander?" Her eyes drifted in Roman's direction as she prepared to renew the objective of transporting his party to the brig.
//“Jorge to Command Center. I’ve apprehended Boribeth Sunland and require immediate transport to the brig.”//
"Understood. Commence transport immediately."
Braddock nodded. "Transporting now," she said following the order. As her hand slid up the console, her eyes monitored the progress of the transport. Once the relocation was complete, her hands began to slide back down until she finally removed them. "Transport complete. Brig confirms their arrival, sir."
"We should try scanning for any signs of cloaked vessels," said Matthew.
"Lieutenant, there have been reports of Romulan, Therys, and Klingon activity in this sector for months now. Are you saying that this Station has not been scanning for such vessels all along?"
"We have, and sensors haven't yielded anything new," Braddock said. "It also doesn't help that Etimon's energy field could help to mask such a signature if someone knew how to use that field to their advantage. As for your earlier question, I'm not reading any sign of trilithium anywhere on the station." Braddock sighed and looked from Howe back to Roman. "Sir, considering the threats of Sunland and Lyras have been... neutralized, should we continue with the lockdown and red alert status?"
At the very least, amending one of those situations would likely make a particular admiral very happy.
