“And Klingons have more than two beverages,”
Obviously, but there was a reason why those two drinks were popular, which in turn made them even more renowned. A really nice alcoholic beverage and then a really non non-alcoholic beverage, you couldn't really go wrong with that.
“Your curiosity masks itself as disrespect,”
K'Lari's glare and words did well to drive the nail of guilt into Robin, he felt horrible for what he had said because it was in itself such a terrible thing to say, as if he was making fun of her. He was shocked that he had even said it and hated himself for it.
Maybe it was a sign that he should really try and get some rest and in all honesty, he was also pretty surprised that the woman hadn't got up and started beating on the forcefield and promising his death. He sighed sadly and was about to turn when K'Lari spoke.
“My father met my mother while they were both Ambassadors on Earth. Though Klingons often take many consorts, her kind did not. Her decision to carry me to term was not a popular one.”
He was incredibly surprised that she was indulging his 'disrespect' and it took him a moment to fully process what she said. He was reminded that M'Khol's father had been an Ambassador. Robin considered the half-human son, the one that could also be an Ambassador if he had stayed with the Talon, to try and keep the peace. Whilst there were many that would still scoff at the idea of ever being allied with the Klingon Empire or vice versa with the Federation, they could not deny that the duo was a mighty force.
Robin stood silent for a long moment, wanting to choose his next words carefully. He tried to get read on how she felt about it but she looked relatively neutral apart from the frustration that he had been solely responsible for just prior.
"Do you wish she hadn't?" Robin asked finally, it wasn't exactly a light question but one you might ask a friend and even then, such personal question might be too much. Still, Klingons were a bit different when it came to this sort of thing.
