"Well, I'm not humping a camel, that's for sure,"
“Well I surely do not want to!” Dahlia exclaimed, slightly taken aback. Had she misunderstood what Tazer was inferring? Everything outside of her parent’s ship was so confusing… Maybe it was like her father always said, and they were just so far above most others that they couldn’t understand their insignificant thoughts.
"Seriously...you can have anything you wan-"
She knew exactly what she wanted, she just didn’t know how to get it. She couldn’t even verbalize it to anyone, not even Tazer. She wanted Tazer, wanted him with all her being, yet she couldn’t figure out why, or how. She had read the relationship advice books. She knew that there were many traits that he demonstrated that were “red flags.” Still, there had to be some way, wasn’t there?
"What th' hell is he wearing? Is that armor?"
Dahlia scowled. “Whatever it is, it is hideous.” Was it supposed to be some sort of costume? Maybe he was one of those fuzzy caterpillars? Or a teddy bear? No… none of those things were quite right.
"Hop on up."
She grinned broadly, her hand just touching his as a clamour occurred on the other side of the room. Before she could say or do anything, Tazer was pushing her behind him. She swooned. See! You can be noble! Unfortunately, that didn’t change much, given everything else that was going on in the room.
"Get behind the camel,"
She nodded numbly, and headed around to the other side of the camel where she sank to the floor, her back up against the “beast.” What was it about this area of space that made it so different from everywhere she’d been before? Crazy things seemed to happen here. She shook her head. Then again, this is the first time I interacted extensively with others.
She peeked her head around the camel, finally seeing what had gotten Tazer so protective all the sudden. Was that… was it sentient? This whole place, it’s so backwards. So… uncultured. Unrefined.
She dismissed the thought, dipping back behind the camel. For now, what mattered was that Tazer was being protective of her. She grinned. Now, if only the rest of the place would stop being so crazy…
