"I've read the reports. The Talon certainly attracts a lot of interesting species. Vague whispers of a male Trill who was thought to be with child?"
Victor's eyebrow shot upward and he waited to see if she would expand on that thought. Vague whispers were fine, but the Bacohl situation was highly classified and if she provided further details, he would have to step in, something he did not want to have to do. As she had said, this was supposed to be vacation.
The two women began chatting and his attention started to wander until a drink was offered along with a suitable pirate phrase. Grinning, Victor took the cannonball shaped object while wondering idly about lit fuses. "Thanks."
The Captain suddenly slid from the float without explanation. Had he missed something in Cobus' transmission? Frowning, he supposed Monroe would have asked for his assistance if it were something major. Maybe he just had to use the bathroom. However, as the transporter beam took the Captain away, that notion went out the window.
"That was unusual."
"Very," Victor commented.
"Anything I can do for you other than keep the rum coming?"
"Unless you've never met a human before, I don't think your job applies to this situation," he quipped, eyeing his drink. Removing the bright red stopper that was reminiscent of the fuse, which he tossed onto the float, he took an experimental drink. It had been a long time since he had chosen rum to chase his troubles away, but the burnt caramel, vanilla, molasses, spice flavor was just what he needed, as was the fire that burned its way into his head.
"Nice," he nodded. Cradling the vessel in his lap, he looked down and a lopsided grin formed on his face before he glanced back at Ania. "Have you made any first contacts on Risa yet?"
